DETECTIVES are investigating an armed robbery at a dance clothing shop in Covent Garden in broad daylight.
A man wearing a Latex mask disguising him as an old man burst into Dancia International in Drury Lane shortly before 5pm on April 30 and threatened the female employees with a handgun – he may also have been carrying a knife.
The man, who was also wearing a white builder’s helmet, a reflective jacket and see-through plastic gloves, demanded the till be opened, warning staff: “I will cut you if you don’t.”
One employee was punched in the head. The man was caught on CCTV as he fled down a passageway connecting Drury Lane to Shelton Street. Police have released images of the suspect.
