Young journalists make their mark at London ceremony

LONDON’S top student journalists have scooped awards for their work.
Reporters from campuses across the capital collected prizes at a ceremony organised by the London Student Journalism Network (LSJN) at the University of London Union in Malet Street.
The Best News Journalist category, sponsored by the New Journal, was won by Oliver Wiseman, who writes for The Beaver, student newspaper of The London School of Economics (LSE) in Holborn.
Felix, student newspaper of Imperial College, was crowned Publication Of The Year.
Among the other winners were: Josh White from QMessenger, student newspaper for Queen Mary, won Commentator Of The Year; Kate Brook, from The Founder, student newspaper for Royal Holloway, won Feature Writer Of The Year; Ben Parfitt, from London Student, student newspaper of University of London, won Sports Writer Of The Year; Charles Betts, from Felix, won Critic Of The Year and the Photography award was won by both Will Hadley and Keeren Flora for their front page collage featured in Cub, Queen Mary’s Magazine.
All winners receive work experience at some of country’s top publications.
