THIS year’s Islington Exhibits art showcase was unveiled at the Estorick Collection in Canonbury last week.
Dozens of venues will be taking part in the borough-wide event between July 15 and 22.
Jane Carroll, from Rowan Arts, said: “Islington Exhibits is all about making the arts accessible for everyone, bringing creativity to your doorstep. Building on the success of last year, we hope to involve even more local businesses and showcase a lot more original artwork.”
Last year, artist Nigel Goldie created large installations at Waitrose in Holloway Road. He advised artists: “Don’t be afraid of going to ask people if you can use their space. They may say yes.”
The exhibition is staged by Holloway-based charity Rowan Arts with Cubitt Education and St Luke’s Centre and is supported by Islington Council.
