Fatal stabbing on sports pitch - Milad Golmakani, 22, from Swiss Cottage, dies in hospital from knife wounds to chest

A 16-YEAR-old boy has appeared in court accused of stabbing a man to death on a sports pitch in West ­Hampstead.

Milad Golmakani, 22, from Swiss Cottage, died in hospital from stab wounds to the chest and neck after being attacked on the Abbey estate, off Abbey Road, last Wednesday afternoon. The 16-year-old, who is from St John’s Wood, cannot be named for legal reasons. He appeared at West London Youth Court on Tuesday. 

He is also accused of the attempted murder of a 17-year-old boy.

Mr Golmakani, an Iranian national, of Winchester Mews, was rushed by ambulance to St Mary’s Hospital, but was pronounced dead an hour later at 6pm.

The 17-year-old, who was stabbed in the arm during the same incident, was treated by paramedics after he was found hiding in a shop in nearby Boundary Road. Police have made a number of other arrests in connection with the incident. A 17-year-old and two 18-year-old boys have been released on bail after they were ­arrested on suspicion of murder.
