TWO Japanese hunting dogs are to be awarded for their years of charity work.
Robert Stuhldreer is the proud owner of akitas Max and Adora, who will be given the “Endal Medal” at the London Pet Show next month. For seven years, the dogs have been working with the charity Akita Rescue and Welfare (UK) and regularly drop in at care homes, hospices, hospitals, schools and adult day centres around Islington.
Mr Stuhldreer, from Holloway, said: “It’s mainly a therapeutic role. Imagine how stressful a hospice can be, but just to have something quite normal like a dog walk in and interact with everyone, really makes a difference.”
