Back-door removals
• I HAVE just learned that at 8am on Wednesday physio beds were being removed from Finsbury Health Centre by the back door, while the physio who was working there one day a week has not been seen for a couple of weeks.
Curious too: the large “Finsbury Health Centre” sign outside the building was changed a few days ago. It now reads merely “Clerkenwell Medical Centre”. This is inaccurate as two groups of practices are sited in the building: Pine Street Practice and Clerkenwell Medical Practice. The telephone number given beneath Clerkenwell Medical Centre on the sign belongs to Pine Street Practice.
Who authorised and organised these changes, and whose approval was sought?
The charges for the work involved should be queried in the next audit unless and until these questions are satisfactorily answered.
What unnotified further changes may be in hand? Since many local people (and others) are concerned, what (if any) consultation has been undertaken? A decision about the health centre’s future is not due until January. So these alterations seem premature.
