Sportswomen of the CSG year
DEKA Ibrahim, Tope Matti and Whitney Roach have been given the ultimate recognition for their sporting excellence for their school.
The inspirational trio were named Camden School for Girls’ Sportswomen of the Year, and presented with trophies by the school’s head of PE Sian Ciester.
Deka was given her award because of her dedication to basketball. Over the past year she has represented both her school and the borough, culminating in a creditable display in the London Youth Games in the summer.
Deka was also responsible for working with the Deutsche Bank Moving Generations project/Sports Unlimited fund to set up skateboarding club at the school in Sandall Road.
It is now being offered within the PE curriculum.
Tope and Whitney were rewarded for their outstanding contribution to the PE department.
Both girls have represented CSG an astonishing 26 times over the past year, as well as taking part in every extra-curricular activity on offer from badminton to table tennis. |
