Box clever! Pupils go to school polls
PUPILS at Our Lady’s Roman Catholic primary school in Camden Town lined up to cast their votes for their school council this week.
They will elect two pupils to represent each year, helping draw up school policy. Last year the council told teachers and governors they were keen to have the school toilets renovated – and got their wish.
Teacher Nicole Nimmo said: “It helps teach the children about the importance of democracy.”
The New Journal helped out by giving a talk about the role newspapers play in the community to a school assembly. |
