Hampstead fight back for victory
London North-West League Rugby
Hampstead 24, Hammersmith And Fulham 10
HAMPSTEAD avenged an early season defeat by Hammersmith and Fulham on Saturday with a battling victory at Parliament Hill Fields.
The hosts conceded three early penalties, but found themselves just 3-0 down as the visiting kicker scored with just one of his attempts.
Hampstead turned the score around when Dai Jenkins fed Dave Gornall to run in under the posts, with fly-half Dave Mold converting to make it 7-3.
Hammersmith grabbed a late try to earn a 10-7 lead at the break, before Hampstead finally gave themselves some breathing space, courtesy of tries from Gornall and Jenkins, both of which Mold converted.
Hampstead capped off a magnificent display late on when Mold added another penalty kick to seal a hard-fought 24-10 victory.
