The kids of Gospel Oak Primary School gardening club with their new bright-coloured garden tools from Sainsbury’s
Pupils try something new in school garden

EATING up your fruit and veg is more bearable when you have grown them yourself, as the children at Gospel Oak Primary School are discovering through their weekly gardening club.
The Friday lunchtime club at the Mansfield Road school is designed to help pupils understand where their food comes from – and how it is grown.
This week the club received a boost from supermarket giant Sainsbury’s, which donated child-sized tools.
Parent Amanda Blinkhorn, who helps out at the club, said the donation came “sort of out of the blue”.
She said: “The child-sized spades, forks and rakes are all in nice bright colours and we can really use them.”
Vik Sthapit, Checkout Manager, said “Sainsbury’s want to make a positive difference in the community and this is a great way to get children eating more fruit and vegetables.”
