Joan Bakewell
How would you impress the PCT dragons?
We asked three local people what they would do with £50,000 and
this is what they came up with...
Veteran broadcaster Joan Bakewell said: “I would use the money to improve people’s lives in Camden Lock. At the moment its very dispiriting there. They should have a juggler or two – something like the Edinburgh Festival.”
Mohammed Joynal Uddin, Islamic cleric and chairman of West Euston Partnership, said: “We need to educate people about why they are unhealthy. A good place to start would be to employ a woman to speak to mothers about what they are cooking in the home.”
Dave Hoefling, founder of the Somers Town People’s Forum, said: “I’ve been to PCT meetings about health in Somers Town. They never listen to what we tell them. If I had £50,000 I’d use it to teach them what a consultation really means.”
