‘It’s brought youngsters together’
ORGANISERS of the Unity Cup have paid tribute to youngsters who created a shrine to Daniel Noel. Speaking at the memorial service organised in Daniel’s memory, Andre Schott, director of Fitzrovia Youth in Action, said he wanted to thank the teenagers for the way they reacted to the tragedy.
He said: “In a time when young people are constantly demonised as hoodies, this has served to bring them together and everyone has been touched by the goodness. “I want to thank them for giving up their pitch and standing guard on the memorial all week.”
Mr Schott also paid tribute to the doctor who tried to save Daniel’s life, but about whom little is known.
He added: “I thank the doctor and the police, who sat outside University College Hospital with tears flowing down their eyes. “Our young people will not forget how hard they worked to save Daniel’s life.”
The Warren pitch was due to re-open this the weekend.
